IT Field Technician – Part Time

Job Description


EV-CONSULTECH, INC. is an Information Technology Services company established in Pasadena, CA since 2004, specialized in providing IT Managed Services and IT Solutions to small and medium size businesses in the Greater Los Angeles Area. Over the past ten years, the company has achieved strong revenue growth and profitability due to its commitment to providing customers with high quality solutions and industry-best customer service. EV-Consultech, Inc. is looking to add an IT FIELD TECHNICIAN to its team. The primary responsibilities of the position will be to complete computing-focused installation and repair jobs at our customer's sites, and at the same time provide on-site and remote technical support to end users.


Responsibilities

  • Travel to conduct service work
  • Installation/maintenance of client computers and network hardware, and various software applications (patches, upgrades and integrations)
  • Maintaining and/or repairing of computers and network equipment, on-site or remotely
  • Troubleshooting a variety of computer issues
  • Setup/maintenance of any network security measures
  • Look for and suggest any improvement in IT infrastructure for our clients
  • Keep up-to-date on supported software and hardware trends and changes


Education

  • Courses completed in computer technology or computer information systems
  • Completed IT Certifications (Microsoft MSCA, Cisco CCNA, CompTIA A+ Network+ Security+ Certification Boot Camp)
  • Associates or bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science (or equivalent)


Qualifications

  • Driver's license and car registration
  • Spanish proficiency a plus
  • Minimum 2-year prior experience with providing Help Desk and Remote Desktop Support to SMB

Required Knowledge

  • Extensive Knowledge of Microsoft operating systems (e.g., Win 7, Win 8, Win 10, Win 11)
  • Extensive Knowledge of Microsoft Servers (e.g., Microsoft Server 2008, 2012, 2016, 2019, 2022)
  • Knowledge of Mac OS X (e.g., Mojave, High Sierra, Yosemite, Monterey, Ventura) and iOS
  • Knowledge of Routers and Firewalls (e.g., SonicWALL, SD-WAN, Cisco)
  • Knowledge of VoIP Phone Systems (e.g., Ring Central, 8x8, Avaya IP Office, Mitel, GoTo)
  • Knowledge of BDR Solutions (e.g., Datto, Axcient C2C and Axcient D2C, CrashPlanPro)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 Administration
  • Knowledge of Wireless Access Point installation and configuration (e.g. Ubiquity, Aruba, Ruckus)
  • Knowledge of Android OS devices


Preferred Knowledge (a plus but not required)

  • Knowledge of CAT5/CAT6 Cabling and terminations
  • Knowledge of Audio Video
  • Knowledge of Access Control Systems
  • Knowledge of Surveillance Cameras
  • Knowledge of VoIP Phone Systems
  • Working knowledge and experience with RMM Systems
  • Working knowledge and experience with ConnectWise or similar PSA System


Position Type

Part-Time, 25 hours / per week

- Salary is competitive with the industry and is based on work experience.

- Mileage reimbursement for vehicle usage during workday at current federally mandated rate.

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: $17.00 to $22.00 /hour
